10 Ways to Live in Joy

  1. Take personal responsibility for your own emotional states, especially happiness.
  2. Never fail to have goals and make a plan to advance towards them each day.
  3. Do not ‘wait until the time is right’ to do the things your heart desires.
  4. You are not entitled to anything.  Evict your inner victim and stop complaining.
  5. Live in the present moment.  You cannot change the past of live a future moment until it comes.  Don’t let regret (past) or worry (future) hinder your present joy.
  6. Work at something you love and that you would do even if you didn’t get paid for it.
  7. Find a way to like the people that you love.
  8. Love yourself.  Don’t spend time with people who disrespect or demean you.  Find people who treasure your company and spend your time with them.
  9. Do not take things for granted.  How would you live today if it was your last day alive?
  10. Focus on something bigger than yourself and work on it with your friends.
